Item: Higurashi: When They Cry – New
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Design_issue
Extra Details: This series was assumed to be a remake/reboot but is looking to be a sequel/alternate story given short scenes shown. This fact was easy to hide since https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/25760-higurashi-no-naku-koro-ni-kai is based on visual novels with different routes so repeat events at the beginning of an arc are the norm.
What should be done with the entry on TMDB? Keep it separate since this was intentional bait/different studio? Just asking for the record.
PS: This involved a show title change with new keyart having been published in both Japanese and English with the title but the official simulcast source "Funimation" has so far not updated the title so I reverted it back to what they have it at.
Their own blog post touching on the name change = https://www.funimation.com/blog/2020/10/08/higurashi-when-they-cry-scores-special-commissioned-key-visual-true-anime-title/
Show entry on their site with the old title in URL, logo and page https://www.funimation.com/shows/higurashi-when-they-cry-new
(yes, this is most likely a technical limitation OR maybe even a conscious marketing decision) (links are US only and archive links don't work - sorry)

I reverted it back to "GOU" since they made an Official Announcement about it and most of the other site I know (MyAnimeList, AnimeNewsNetwork, TVDB, Anidb etc....) have also changed it to GOU. Let's see if Funimation changes it to GOU or not by episode 3, if not then I'll leave it up to the mods whichever one they're going to keep.

I'm cool to wait for a week but they put the "true" title in quotations and they're probably not going to change it for marketing reasons (trailer under this, "New" is easier to remember than "Gou", etc.).
