The Movie Database Support

Cowboy Bebop show has external identifiers like TVDB Id, but if I use the find method to bring this series from TMDB, doesn't return results.

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/find/76885?api_key=_YOUR-API-KEY_&language=en-US&external_source=tvdb_id

When running the request the result is not empty, it returns a TV episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/562-the-ellen-degeneres-show/season/2/episode/119). Somebody has added the ID of Cowboy Bebop to this episode as it seems.

OK. Thank you.

I remove the bad ID from the episode and expect that this fix the issue.

Best regards

This Id is correct for the episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" : https://thetvdb.com/series/the-ellen-degeneres-show/episodes/76885 . At TVDB, an Id may be the same for an episode and a series. This is the same here between movies and TV series.

Perfect. Sorry for cause another issue deleting the id šŸ˜….

Then I think, is this an issue in the TMDB Api?

In theory, I think so.
Both items should come in the answer.
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/30991-cowboy-bebop/edit?active_nav_item=external_ids
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/562-the-ellen-degeneres-show/season/2/episode/119/edit?active_nav_item=external_ids

It's the same problem with TMDB IDs.
In some cases, the same title is in Movie and TV Show.
And the same IMDB ID was placed on both of them.
This is possible because they are two separate BDs.
So, if you search by IMDB ID, only one item will come up in the answer.
I always believe the Movie.

There was an issue with that particular ID. I have fixed the data and when your cached request expires, you will now see 2 results (one for tv_results and another for tv_episode_results.

Thanks.

Thanks @travisbell for your quick fix. šŸ˜‰
