A small, seemingly innocuous plastic reel of film leads surveillance specialist Tom Welles down an increasingly dark and frightening path. With the help of the streetwise Max, he relentlessly follows a bizarre trail of evidence to determine the fate of a complete stranger. As his work turns into obsession, he drifts farther and farther away from his wife, family and simple life as a small-town PI.

After discovering an old camera and an 8mm recording tape from the closet, I felt destined to look out for the people in it.

He is a devout believer who goes about his work. One day, the goddess appears in his dream, complains to him about the plight of 8mm film, and orders him to independently produce 8mm film.

Miharu, who returned to Japan due to sudden company bankruptcy, finds a letter in an empty room after a long absence. With memories of his old lover in his heart, Miharu heads north on a motorbike, relying on the letter. While riding a motorcycle, Miharu meets a man who has an 8mm camera that his former lover had.

El Forastero Motorcycle Club (EFMC) is a 1% motorcycle club which was established after being turned down for a chapter by the Satan Slaves MC. The El Forasteros are well known for their criminal activities, and are considered by law enforcement to be among the many second-tier, after the "Big Four" gangs, outlaw motorcycle gangs operated as organized crime enterprises. The club was founded in Sioux City, Iowa, 1962, has chapters in Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, and Missouri. The film depicts the every day rituals of passionate bikers. Filmed in 8mm.

"8mm Vertigo" is produced by taking a 7 second segment from Alfred Hitchcock’s film "Vertigo," which is then put on a permanent repeat by using a smart phone application called "8mm." The image created by this app gives a nostalgic touch of the old-film like texture. Despite the nostalgic feel, this is the result of an artificially made virtual world created by the smart phone – a high-tech device.

Spilling Blood in 8mm is the first DVD released by Welsh post-hardcore quintet Funeral for a Friend. It was released on 20 September 2004 after their debut album Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation the previous year.

Structuralist film collage consisting of 8mm film "notes" printed directly on 16mm stock. The images include people and landscapes and the technical difference between the two film formats are emphasised by the presence of perforations, Kodak company marking, spacing, and leader.

Preiss had the rare chance to salvage a selection of 8mm reeled from his archive; 30 years after it was first shot, this lovingly refashioned material returns as…a luminescent ode to the friends, filmmakers and artists with whom Preiss lived and worked during this time.

Filmed with the Bolex Rx8 camera which was the exact same size as a 16mm Bolex but holding 4 times the amount of film time-wise. These rolls were spontaneously edited with my in-camera style and have emerged as portraits, mostly of artist friends, including the painter and colleague Lynn Shelton at work in his San Francisco home studio. There is also a black & white “portrait” of my old Los Angeles neighborhood and a glimpse of my current locale in Sonoma County California. The painter's eye and a musician's lyricism is at the root of these cinematic explorations. - Myron Ort
