DAY AND NIGHT was photographed with a still-camera with close-up attachment. Two close images were taken, with the subject -a heather plant- on a turning platform. The heather blossoms are tiny, on average less than 1/8 inch in size. Color was augmented and transformed via computer. Movement was computer-created by way of an editing-formula of my invention (patented) by which 3D films can be made from 2D imagery exploiting similarities and differences between two adjacent film-frames. Active 3D events appear that impossibly continue in one direction without change, my name for them is both silly and fitting: eternalisms.

"Day and Night" is an omnibus release by William Kwok-Wai of 3 short films consisting of 3 Malaysian filmmakers Ho Yuhang, Charlotte Lim and Yeo Joon Han, reflecting their personal feelings about the health of Malaysian society. "TRESPASSED" by Ho Yuhang is about a girl who misses her father slowly becomes entirely possessed by grief. It seems as if an outside force has taken control of her emotions. "BITE" by Charlotte Lim is about a school girl, meticulously observed by a patient camera in a small, yet sensitive story. Perhaps a lesson in life, for it isn't as innocent as it seems and "BEDSIDE MANNERS" by Yeo Joon Han is about a man who lies in bed, paralyzed. He can still see and hear and has to suffer the stupid talk of a bunch of idiots. Satire on all sorts of things in Malaysia.

John is a successful businessman, at least on the surface. He's really suffering from a deep depression after the death of his loved one. He decides to take his life but on the way he meets Alex, a young girl who decides to stop him.

‘Nights and Days’ uses notes written and filmed during summer 2006 as a personal account of the experience of war. The first part, which resembles yet is not a diary of war, oscillates between day-shots and night-shots and features a soundtrack expressing the idea of time passing, awaiting, interrogations and fears experienced in such an unusual time. The second part is a journey to south Lebanon which was devastated during that war. It alternates between peaceful landscapes and ruins and destruction accompanied only by music, as no words could express this devastation. ‘Nights and Days’ questions the relation between image and sound and reflects on notions of ‘beauty’ and ‘horror through images of urban and natural landscapes, where sometimes a detail betrays the presence of war and its violence.

Fun adventures await the Gureev family, including an immersion in the flavor of a local wedding, which is celebrated for just 7 days and 7 nights. "A 'drawn' film, with images that are constantly changing, drawings of landscapes that keep escaping, traces of faces, everything is almost what it is but never stays that way. The soundtrack punches out a wild monotone of dirty, nonsense limericks to the accompaniment of hand-drawn images related only in their complementary rhythm." -- David Holmstrom

Three recovering heroin addicts try to make a new start.

Based on Virginia Woolf’s novel, an unromantic comedy about a passionate astronomer who does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage. The story of Katharine’s bold challenge to the Edwardian patriarchy is set against the backdrop of the suffragette movement and advances in science and technology, at the turn of the 20th century.

While the ten-day ceremony 'Âshûrâ' is a commemoration of the slaughter of the grandson of the prophet Muhammad and his relatives and companions at Karbalâ' in 680, it is also an invocation of the occulted Twelfth Imam, the Mahdî, in the hope of hurrying his exoteric earthly return. But how would the one invoked, who is (imaginally) present albeit occulted, perceive the ceremony? He would not perceive it the way we see it but in more temporal detail. While the first part of the video appears to be a documentation of the ceremony as it might be perceived by an all too human audience member, the second part of the video, which happens across a lapse of consciousness if not of being (indicated by the cut to black on the sound of the participants' hands striking their chests), and where time is dilated, implies that the essential spectator of the ceremony is the one to whom it is addressed, the Mahdî.
