Ian grew up in a small farming community in eastern Iowa. He is of German, Irish, and Native American descent. A child of the 80s, he developed an early interest in storytelling; planning scripted battles with his friends, drawing storyboards from his favorite movies, and shooting short films in the corn fields around his farm. His father introduced him to movies early on, and he found his creative escape through films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Back to the Future, and The Empire Strikes Back. On the small screen, The Twilight Zone and X-Files filled most of his nights, supplemented by a steady diet of Stephen King. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
