Discuss Christopher Nolan

Is he now tumbling down the other side of the mountain?

Thoughts?

You clearly haven't seen Interstellar yet.

Also, though I've only seen 7 minutes of Dunkirk, coming from someone who isn't to war movies at all, the tension and the buildup in those seven minutes were huge. I was invested already. I'd say wait and see. I definitely don't think Nolan peaked with Inception, though I suppose that is a matter of opinion. I really liked The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and loved Interstellar.

No, no I have - have actually been discussing it on that board, which is what got me thinking.

It's just that for me he kind of went:-
↗ The Prestige
↗ The Dark Knight
↗ Inception
↘ Dark Knight Rises
↘ Interstellar

Now Dunkirk might turn out to be a good film but I'm just a little worried that it seems highly unlikely that it will have the kind of innovative qualities that these "on the rise" films above had...

I think Dunkirk will be the next peak.

He's 46, there could be a dozen or more great movies from Nolan yet to come.
