Christine Maria Kaufmann (Lengdorf, Styria, 11 de gener de 1945 - Munic, Alemanya, 28 de març de 2017) va ser una actriu, autora i empresària alemanya-austríaca. Va guanyar el Globus d'Or a la Nova Estrella de l'Any - Actriu per Town Without Pity l'any 1961, la primera alemanya a rebre aquesta distinció.

Born to a German father and a French mother in Lengdorf, Styria, Kaufmann became a ballerina at the Munich Opera. She started her film career at the age of seven in the 1952 adaptation of Im weißen Rößl (White Horse Inn). The film which brought her fame was Rosen-Resli, released in 1954, when she was only nine. She gained international recognition when she starred with Steve Reeves in The Last Days of Pompeii (1959) and with Kirk Douglas in Town Without Pity (1961). The following year she appeared in Escape from East Berlin.

In 1963 Kaufmann married Tony Curtis, whom she had met during the filming of Taras Bulba (1962). They had two daughters, Alexandra (born July 19, 1964) and Allegra (born July 11, 1966). They divorced in 1968. Kaufmann resumed her career, which she had interrupted during her marriage.

Kaufmann is also a successful businesswoman, promoting her own cosmetics products line that sells well in Germany. She has written several books about beauty and health, as well as two autobiographies. She speaks three languages: German, English, and French.

Née d'un père allemand et d'une mère française, Christine Maria Kaufmann fait très tôt son entrée dans le monde artistique. Elle est ballerine à l'Opéra de Munich et commence sa carrière d'actrice de cinéma à sept ans, en 1952, dans une adaptation de Im weißen Rößl (The White Horse Inn, L'auberge du cheval blanc). Le film qui lui apporte la célébrité en Allemagne est Rosen-Resli, sorti en 1954, alors qu'elle n'a que neuf ans.

En 1963, elle épouse Tony Curtis qu'elle a rencontré pendant le tournage de Tarass Boulba (1962). Ils ont deux filles, Alexandra (née en 1964) et Allegra (née en 1966). Ils divorcent en 1968. Kaufmann reprend sa carrière qu'elle a interrompue pendant son mariage.

Elle devient une vedette internationale quand elle joue aux côtés de Kirk Douglas dans Ville sans pitié (1961).

Kaufmann est aussi une femme d'affaires avisée faisant la promotion de sa propre ligne de produits cosmétiques qui se vend bien en Allemagne. Elle signe plusieurs livres sur la beauté et la santé et écrit aussi deux autobiographies. Elle parle trois langues: l'allemand, l'anglais et le français.

Ihren Durchbruch hatte sie 1954 als Waisenkind in Harald Reinls Rosen-Resli. International bekannt wurde Kaufmann als 16-jährige Schülerin Karin Steinhof in dem US-amerikanischen Spielfilm Stadt ohne Mitleid, für den sie 1962 den Golden Globe Award als „beste Nachwuchsdarstellerin“ erhielt. Kaufmanns Schauspielkarriere in Theater, Film und Fernsehen erstreckte sich von den 1950er-Jahren bis 2014 und umfasste über 110 Film- und Fernsehproduktionen.
