Sorry, but you didn’t get it. It’s basically not because of old vs. new orthography here! Also all my other posts respect this fact but there have just wrong spellings been used.

Here it’s just about using the article “das” (single ‘s’), which is quite wrong and gives the sentence a total different meaning (or it makes it to a non-correct sentence).

It has to be the conjunction: either “daß” or “dass”!

The reason why I wrote both forms are:

• Aufzählungs-TextEven if the reform was already 1996 it come legally into effect later (depending on the sector and federal state).
• It is not clear at all how to deal with movies in the transition period (around 1996 to 1999; for later revisions we have later dates).
• IMHO a plot should use constant rules at all, i.e. either old or new orthography.
• Since this plot obviously uses old orthography (based on the spelling of “läßt”) it should also use old orthography for “daß” (and therefore it was my primary suggestion).

Many movies/plot have errors (not only typos or orthography) but are locked. Sadly I cannot fix the errors and so I have to report it.
