Because movie culture is infantilised, as are most movies today...

Why do you think that happened? Only kids go to the movies or something? I would have loved this film when I was 10 but everything about it was dumb. I don't get why not one single review explained it is dumb and childish even for a dumb summer action flick. Actually I did find some reviews on RT that said this but they were buried within 1000 raving reviews, like the overall score.

Aren't most "blockbuster" movies for adult infants? If they exhibit some semblance of complexity then they are "pretentious".
This movie was "Badass", "Gangster", "Sick", "The Shit", "Freaking Epic".

Most are, especially nowadays. There have been good blockbusters in the past, Jaws, Spectre, Titanic, etc. And even stuff aimed more at kids like Jurassic Park still managed to be fun for everyone. But now it seems like everything really is very pretentious, or a dumb kid flick. There is very little in between. I try my best to find good films but all I ever come across are boring pretentious crap for the Sundance lovies or Deadpool type dude bro teen movies. Where are all the normal people?!

I preferred Skyfall but they are decent. Not that there's anything wrong with robot movies, I just wish reviews would at least tell it like it is.

Well anything that doesn't say "This is a trash movie for dumb kids" is misleading.
Also TOMATOMETER 71% AUDIENCE SCORE 77%

Scores don't work like that and never will, ever. Different movies are scores on different scales. If I watch a movie like Pacific Rim, I won't rate it on the same scale as an Oscar worthy movie.
I previously used the movies John Wick 2 and the movie Flame and Citron as examples. Both movies are loosely based on assassins. Both films have approximately similar scores. Do you think both movies were rated by the same standard? Absolutely not.
When people are rating a movie they rate it based on what audience the movie is for. For a "blockbuster" movie John Wick 2 was actually pretty good, it had good characterizations. I would NEVER compare it to Flame and Citron and use the same standard when I'm rating it.
Flame and Citron would probably be much higher on the "pretentious" scale for most people. This is because they are dumb and don't appreciate appreciate good movies. They would rather have movies that are easy to understand and digest. They want black & white, good vs. evil. They are "dude bro teenagers".

Well those scores aren't a rating, just the percentage of people who liked it. But I think all films should be rated equally. There's nothing really wrong with being an action robots movie or whatever, there are just as legitimate as any other movie, but there is no excuse for them being stupid. Terminator and T2 are some of the best films I've ever seen and I would rate them as high as anything else. If stuff like Pacific Rim isn't scored on the same scale then the scores are useless.

I don't care for ratings at all... that's no way to assess art or entertainment...
What I do take issue with is when critics, actually reviewers really as there's usually very little critical thinking involved, turn a blind eye to out infantilised current movie making is... I liked Pacific RIM, it's ok as far as these kids movies go.. but it certainly is a kids movie...
