Discuss Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

And take this movie with you. That's where all of you belong. What's there to say? The previous ones weren't exactly good, but this stinker still somehow manages to set a new low. How many times are they going to make the same movie where this so called superrobot called Optimus Prime gets slapped silly by just about anyone only to somehow come back later and get his payback. Should change his name to Optimus Dime because that is what he seems like : a dime a dozen getting whooped so easily. Now not to be outdone we have "Mirage" apparently voiced by Pete Davidson doing a terrible job at it with the robot acting like he is trying be Steve Buscemi in that trying to be like the cool kids meme. Apparently this Mirage also sucks equally bad at fighting and somehow the human he gives his robot powers to immediately is a better fighter than he was. I'm not even going to start with the silly animal robots, but I have to ask why does the robot gorilla feel the need to act like a real gorilla and pound his chest for example? Apparently they gave that dude the intelligence of an Amstrad computer or maybe he is trying to draw the attention of a robot mating mate with his antics.

tldr; A generous 1/10 is what this movie deserves. Terrible in every way imaginable.

I haven't seen any Transformers movies since the first one but this seems incredibly similar to the complaining posts I see here and elsewhere re the Fast & Furious movies.

These have hit number ten now, eleven in total if you are including Hobbs & Shaw, yet you still seem to get people believing they are some kind of geniuses when proclaiming - in amazement usually - that these films are not works of classic cinema and will not be receiving any Oscars any time soon. The mentally of such complaints truly bewilders me. It's like they believe that someone is going to turn around and say "Wow! You know what - I've watched all nine of these and thought they were all incredible works of art, cinematic masterpieces but now that you've pointed out that this last one is garbage I can suddenly see through the whole Emperor's New Clothes facade and truly see these films for the utter shit they really are... Thank you friend!!"

I think a similar logic applies to Transformers. As I said I haven't seen any of them since the first one but I'm pretty certain the people going along, munching their XL popcorns and sucking down their Pepsis are getting pretty much what they expect to be getting...

Funny that the only Transformers movie with an actual story is still just a terrible movie.
