There's just something about this one that has a replay value unlike anything else I've seen...and the weird thing is I can't explain why. Something just draws me to it every time. I wouldn't say it's the best film ever made and it's not even my personal favorite, but it's like an insanely addictive drug. I don't know - maybe it's the chemistry with the actors, the dialogue, the set pieces, the unique ghost designs...everything just clicks perfectly. Ramis hit absolute gold with his vision here and it's mind-numblingly orgasmic. Anyone else have a similar feeling?

Yes, you're on to something. I've heard a lot about Ghostbusters when I first saw it a few years ago. I found it just above average then. But the more often I see it the more I value its unique comedy. The dialogue is just hilarious!

Yeah same for me with the subsequent viewings. I first saw it in the theater as a double feature with Gremlins (good times!) and instantly loved it but it really grew on me while watching on video. It's definitely one of a kind and found myself quoting it constantly. The music is another plus I forgot to mention, very memorable themes & song choices.

Ghostbusters, along with a host of 80s and early 90s movies I make sure to view at least once a year. The Goonies, Back to the Future etc.

I probably saw this movie a half dozen times when it was in theatres, watched it at least that many times when it came to pay tv and I'm fairly certain I eventually got it on DVD. I recently rewatched it after not having seen it for a few years and I have to admit Bill Murray made the experience nearly intolerable. I understand he had to balance out Aykroyd and Ramis, but his hamminess was just too over the top. He needed to tone it down by at least half.

It is rewatchable. IMO Die Hard is up there, too.
