If I ever came across an alien, I'd turn it in to the authorities. I'd take a million pics/videos of the alien before I make the call. And then get ready for a visit from the Men in Black.
There's a reason E.T. was found by a child. Having him found by an adult would be a very different movie.
Exactly. Spielberg followed up on the theme with the much more cynical A.I. (2001). In that movie the "alien" is a robot child and his keepers are adults. Let's just say the adults are considerably less accomodating than Elliot in E.T. I think the film A.I. was essentially a companion piece to E.T. (note the obvious 2 letter acronym titles) both showing how grownups basically suck and that, if anything, children are the only hope for the human race.
I absolutely would NOT turn in an alien, or any unusual wildlife species I might happen to find in my back yard. I'm not that trusting of our politicians and leaders (and definitely not animal control).

I think I'd be content with just seeing it. Its like if you hit Bigfoot with your car, you gotta let him go. Its a one and a million chance

I'd probably faint at the first sight of an alien, lol.

I'd try to hitch a ride with him.
