The worst part of this movie is the scene where Tony and his brother were killed in the corn field.That was brutal and took WAY too long.Why not just shoot them in the head?That would be a LOT faster and take less effort!!!
I mean,that's just poor writing!!!

It was a horrible scene but I think the idea was to make Joe Pesci really suffer by watching his brother being beaten so savagely and knowing it was going to happen to him as well. They wanted to really punish him as well as execute him and a bullet would have been too quick and painless.

I read that both brothers were buried alive in that movie.I also read that the person Joe Pesci's character is based on WAS buried alive with his brother.

Do you mean "that" happened for real?I wasn't sure if you made a mistake in the first sentence.Sounds like Tony Scorloti brought this on himself.I haven't seen this in ages,I think I only say it when it was first shown on television.That hole they put his brother in was basically a shallow grave,I don't think burying anyone alive in that thing will result in their death.I actually watched this scene on Youtube.
