Discuss Gravity

It's been a few years since this was released but I think it's safe to say that Gravity is overrated and didn't deserve the Oscar for directing...

Have any of you even bothered to re-watch it?

Once you get past the special effects, it's such a small and inconsequential movie.

Watched this last night. The 'visuals' are pretty cool, but the story was mawkish & entirely predictable!

I just watched it and I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure what you were hoping for, saying it's 'predictable' - I mean, obviously. We're watching a film about an astronaut surviving a disaster in space: there are only a narrow set of routes by which someone could do that. It wouldn't have been a better film if aliens had rescued her, or she'd built a new earth out of the debris. Sometimes a film is about watching the thing happen, being engaged, and this did that very well.
