Disney acted how they should. Quickly and without hesitation.

Gunn's disturbing child-rape fantasies and his endorsement of pedo groups like Nambla are unacceptable, especially for a family company. He even made some creepy comments during his Disney tenure like "Eagle snatsches child is what I call when I get lucky".

His movies are trivial manchildren trash, full of poop dialogue and misogyny. Made for the very lowest common denominator. An embarrassment.

Disney did good here.

Fuck off with the misogyny diatribe, so much misogyny that two of the fiercest members of the guardians is a female half robot with a mechanical arm and Gamora. I knew the brainless would zoom in on this thread sooner or later, can't keep a good sjw zombie down for long.

be silent pedo, insulting a woman on how ugly she is culminating with a moronic "don't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you" (ya, gal ya need da man!) is the epitome of depraved manchildren misogyny. The fact that you are too stupid too realize it does not unmake it. Now piss off into your mommy's manchild-basement and lick that sensitive nipples of yours, dimwit.

This utter retard who thinks bimbo model Gal Gadot is the very pinnacle of female award winning talent in Hollywood is going to lecture me on misogynyπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ drop dead you utter waste of sperm. Your natural home should've been a Kleenex tissue not a woman's uterus. I'm no fan of James's comments but you of all cretins slamming Gunn for misogyny is pure retardation.

So, you got nothing. Your intellectual surrender is accepted.

Next time think before you type, or you'll feel daddy's belt.

Your faux outrage was absolutely hilarious I'm saddened that a Kleenex tissue somewhere out there clogging the oceans is missing its wank in the form of you. Dumb bitch.

Jedan, It's your dad raping you that got you all up in this thread.

Your rape projection is noted. So, in only a few posts you degenerated into your disgusting, dimwitted and misogynistic self again. Kudos, you are truly worthy of your depraved "I like it when children touch me in my silly place" master. I feel sorry for you.

a brilliant director gets fired, whilst a hideous lesbian gets a netflix comedy show, in which she gets paid to not be funny.

Oh god not her! I saw 'highlights' wow if thats ground breaking comedy than comedy is fucking dead.

Let See Disney just bought a Hollywood Studio that owns a show that features a elderly Pedo that trying to molest Chris Griffin every week. At this point Disney is a Family Company in the same way that Ron Jermery is a Film Star. Not to mention Walt Disney himself was a racist who thought racist cartoons were cool. No matter who you slice it. Disney are being huge hypocrites here. James Gunn made really stupid tweets 10 years ago when he worked for a company that made edgy movies with Dark Humor. Disney had to know about this sh!t before they hired him. Now they say they didn't know about it. Bullsh!t. Im getting sick of people getting fired over every little thing.

I do not agree with firing someone for something stupid they did 10 years that was already known about and apologized for long ago. However, the firing of James comes down to one thing the acquisition of Fox by Disney which won't be ratified till next year, which is a bigger money issue than GoG3. As it stands the Government can still block it, so Disney isn't taking chances with it. If these events occurred after the acquisition is complete, I doubt Disney would have even be giving this 2 blinks, and may still change their minds later next year before filming of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 starts, but for now they have no choice but to stand their ground on this, even though it was a crappy thing to do.

Dosent Fox get to keep some of their TV channels? I could have sworn that was part of the deal. Anyway the fact that Walt himself was racist dosent really matter considering how long ago it was, when being racist or sexist was just accepted. But now we are in the amazing MeToo and BLM and SJWs with pussy hats movement times! Cant get away with stuff like that, even if it was 10 years ago. And the whole industry is full of hypocrites if you havent noticed by now. Disney did the right thing by firing Gunn, they are protecting their brand and that brand is bigger than Gunn/GOTG. Even if I personally dont agree with the move, but from a company perspective it makes sense.

Well according to Wikipedia. Disney doesn't get Fox Broadcasting company. But they do still get 20th Century Fox Television. Which produces all the show. Hopefully Seth Macfarlane wont be out of a Job. Sure Disney has right to do it. But in the long run its probably going to shoot them in the foot. Directors who come from similar backgrounds might not be so willing to work with Disney. Especially if there going thrown them under the bus without moments notice.

James Gunn was just rehired to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3, a week after Disney announced that they got government approval for the Disney/Fox merger.

Excellent news!

I wonder if people will even remember all the drama two/three years from now?

I'm sure it will come up again during the release of Suicide Squad and before the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Douche-bag youtubers and tweeters won't be able to resist taking advantage of the click bait potential of it. They're not sjws, they're not npc/incels, they're not fans, cons nor dems, they're not shills that work for the WB (or anyone else competing with Disney), they're just douche-bags that believe Marvel+controversy = viewers thus incite the drama.

I think the worse part is that Disney never actually fired him, they just said he was off the project as director. And now after the Fox merger they publicly put him back on. I think Disney might have hurt their image with this. Imagine being Gunn and sitting in the WB Suicide Squad signing/negotiations and knowing you will be back at Disney to direct and also directing for WB. Gunn literally made out like a bandit. I wonder if WB will change their mind and release him from his contract. Cutthroat business man.

I don't know. There were a lot of people (like myself) who thought dropping James Gunn was a dick move by Disney, and many already suspected/understood that the Fox merger was behind it even when the announcement he was dropped was made. Most now are just happy that Disney/Marvel can put this behind them and continue bushiness as usual. As for the WB, I'm sure they can spin this to their benefit if Suicide Squad 2 does well, I hear they're already interested in putting James Gunn on more projects.
