So Luke walks out of the woods, all bloody and with an ax in his hand. Not suspicious at all. His friend died in robbery attack, he gets PTSD while helplessly watching him die, few months later he goes with his other friends to a hike, comes back all bloody and disturbed, talking about some monster deity in the woods that killed them and some weird local people that worship it. I don't think that will be very acceptable as proper explanation by the police.
Anyway, I was hoping for a darker ending, sort of The Descend kind of way mixed with Brazil. That he didn't actually escape and only hallucinated it, that he is still in that weird village, sitting on the bench like all other mummified people there while the deity feeds on his pain. I actually wonder why it needed the pain? Was it feeding on the pain and fear or did it cure the people from their pain and kept them worshiping it in their happier hallucinations? If that's true maybe he didn't really escape after all?

I think the third act suffered abit for sure. Im glad he made it out and it didnt end on a depressing note, like some horror films do. And I dont know if 'Loki's offspring' was feeding of pain or curing anyone. It seemed like it just wanted people to worship it. And it gave them 'eternal' life...I guess as a mummy. I just dont understand why it was killing hikers and worshipers. I mean if you want them to worship you why start killing them? Just break them down and than those that wont worship kill.
And they never show how someone explains creatures to the police in horror films or the aftermath if someone actually gets out alive.
