The movie does suffer a little without James Wan directing, especially at the climax, however it was still miles better than many of the horror movies out there including practically all of the Conjuring spin offs. It was fun to watch, and then look up and read about the actual accounts of what happened, which has always been half the entertainment value of all the main three Conjuring films.

I agree, 6 of us went, 2 teenagers, 2 adults in their late 30's and 2 in their 60's, and we all liked it and stayed interested, it seemed to go by fairly quick, which means it kept us entertained. Like most Movies of course it can be picked apart, but I always think how difficult it must be to make a Movie, by the time we see it, we are all armchair Quarterbacks, of course we can sit and see it all, but from the directors point of view, it's all in his head on paper, they just hope it comes out well. So I won't pick at it, overall it was a good Movie, and worked well on the big screen, the 2 main actors I think are awesome together and great for those roles. John Noble was excellent and I like the young girl, and her boyfriend they played their parts well. Overall I would recommend anyone that likes horror Movies to see it, and my Wife and I are both Paranormal investigators for over 35 years now, so we are well aware of what the Warren's do and everything they've compiled in research and evidence over the years.

I didn't HATE it, but its definitely the weakest of the 3 Conjuring Films so far. Too much scares for the sake of scares (like the director's other Conjureverse film, La Llorona) & felt to "popcorn" at times. Agreed, that its better then MOST Conjureverse spinoffs...maybe except Annabelle: Creation, that one is still EXCELLENT & its no surprise that director David F. Sanberg is moving on to bigger, better things (Shazam: Fury of the Gods)

Yeah, it was okay. I still like the first film of the series best out of the three.

It seems to me that the first two installments of the Conjuring were more terrifying !!!!
