Discuss Battle of the Sexes

I never cared for tennis, but I had heard about this match and how important it was for women. What I didn't realize all this time was the age disparity between the two. How can you say women are just as good as men at a particular activity with a 26 year age difference between the opponents? If they had been the same age there would have been no contest.

I remember reading a story about a U.S. women’s soccer team being beaten in a match by teenage boys. I just don't see how anyone could take this seriously.

this guy ranked 203 in the world beat both Serena and Venus Williams badly. they both said they could easily beat any man ranked outside of 200. Myth busted. he was even smoking cigarettes between change overs.

Ouch.

I know I could never bring this stuff up in real life conversation without being called a sexist/misogynist, but biology is biology. Billie Jean King is celebrated for beating an old man way past his prime simply because she was female. It would be like celebrating a woman runner who beat Usain Bolt when he was 60 and recovering from 2 broken legs.

a buddy of mine and I discuss this all the time. we surmised that the Brazilian boys 14 year old soccer team, could beat the US women's national team, even if they were a man down. speed is speed no matter how old you are

Agreed. That is the kind of stuff that I hate about this society sometimes. Anytime you bring something like that up, even when it's valid, you are labeled a sexist. A lot of people are just really dumb.
