Read few books when I was in 3rd grade I think (more into Sweet Valley Kids lol) but it made an impact as I remember thinking how lucky they were and how fun it must be to have own place as a kid.

Didn't even know about this film til last year and finally watched it. Nice film to watch when you want to just relax. At first was bothered by the look as it looked like those cheap TV programmes for babies about teddy bears, butterflies and whatnot. But after a while I was already sucked in to their world lol and it was a nice intro to them as from the books it was more adventure/mystery stories.

Would have loved to explore the backstory more though like their parents and relationship with the grandfather, why their parents said he was scary. And they seem like well rounded kids, for sure their parents had friends? But, it's just a children's story so maybe no need to go into those details?
