Thane Furrows, an extremely cynical but unintentionally hilarious children's book writer, wakes up one morning, and, since pretty much everyone and everything annoys him, begins another day of complaining to himself. However, the day proves to be much different than normal when Thane begins to recieve strange phone calls, letters, and voices in his head, all indicating that something will happen at 8 o'clock. As the day goes on, Thane rants and raves about the things that annoy him, as the clock slowly ticks closer and closer to his destiny

Thane Furrows ist ein Kinderbuchautor. Er gilt als begabt, aber zynisch und verbringt die meiste Zeit in seinem Haus. Sein laute Musik hörender Nachbar, seine dominante Mutter und ein Versicherungsvertreter belästigen ihn häufig und regen auf. Furrows bekommt eines Tages Anrufe und Briefe sowie hört Stimmen, die verkünden, dass um 20 Uhr etwas besonderes passieren soll. Sein Freund Al Dalby besucht ihn. Später wird Furrows mit dem personifizierten Tod konfrontiert.

O escritor de livros infantis Thane Furrols (Steve Oedekerk) tem uma vida infernal: todos os dias possuem diversos motivos para a lamentação. No entanto, um dia parece fugir de sua rotina quando ele começa a receber ligações, cartas e vozes na mente estranhas, todas indicando que algo ocorrerá às oito horas.

Thane Furrows, un escritor de libros infantiles extremadamente cínico pero involuntariamente hilarante, se despierta una mañana y, como casi todo el mundo lo molesta, comienza otro día de quejas para sí mismo. Sin embargo, el día resulta ser muy diferente de lo normal cuando Thane comienza a recibir extrañas llamadas telefónicas, cartas y voces en su cabeza, lo que indica que algo sucederá a las 8 en punto.
