Discuss A Star Is Born

Barbra gave it all she had. Kris seemed bored. But was that the character? If so, then he did a good job. I love Kris (I saw him in May 2017 when he came to Michigan) so that was very cool.

I just watched this wow Kris' singing was grating to the ears. A friend stated, he didn't know Kris was a singer. I responded, he isn't. lol

I think that's how the character was, marshjes.

Kris Kristofferson gave many interviews years later after doing this movie....said working with Barbara Streisand was one of the worst experiences of his life. Her diva attitude almost derailed the movie...you can see it in his performance....he was miserable working with her. The director also hated working with her. I recently saw this version after watching the newest version with Bradley Cooper/ Lady Gaga version (which is excellent) The 1970s version is an assault on the eyes and ears. the music is horrible (yes, I know it was the 70s) and the acting was mediocre at best. It seemed like it was just a Barbara Streisand passion project to put her face and her singing on screen for as much time as possible.
