I'm a Old School Classic Mission Impossible fan (since 1969), and I think that this is definatly the best of the movies so far.

I typed my comment in a way that did not make my angle clear. I was not thinking so much about an American actor playing a British (or Scottish, or Welch, or even Irish) Bond; I was referring to James Bond the character being American, since Bond is a Royal subject in Her Majesty's service.
That said, I haven't watched any Dalton Bonds, so I don't know what kind of Bond he was playing. I could still be talking foolishness here, far beyond my limited knowledge zone!

@DRDMovieMusings: Funny you should mention that. Are you aware of the 1950's live one hour adaptation of Casino Royale? It was broadcast on CBS and starred American actor Barry Nelson as Jimmy "Card Sense" Bond, a CIA agent.

@DRDMovieMusings: I've only seen the first 15 minutes of it. One thing that I liked about it was that Le Chriffe was played by Peter Lorre. For the time (1950's) and format (live television), what I saw was okay.
