In Rocky II Sly sensationally becomes the face of Beast Aftershave.
But in REAL LIFE which fragrance, when you put it on in the morning, makes you smeel mainly?
Is it:-
A. Old Spice - https://youtu.be/e_-C1RcBJxw
B. Brut - https://youtu.be/pU_iZ-JfJI0
C. Hai Karate - https://youtu.be/n7nPRFQFgmQ

Good news folks! My Hai Karate arrived by mail order and I now have the holy trinity at hand to compare...
First off today is Hai Karate - It's brutally strong, no disguising you're wearing this one! Quite musky, a deep citric cinnamon fusion I'll go with... Could leave me feeling nauseous shortly though if the sheer force of it's pungency doesn't begin to wane 😷

Can I pick, "None of the above?" The only reason any of us wore these 'frangrances" back in high school was when we wanted to disguise the fact that we hated taking showers with the other dudes after gym class. Besides, I think most of them can be used to light a gas grill.

Certainly not wrong as far as Hai Karate was concerned that's for sure! Valarie Leon was writing cheques the reality couldn't sign in those adverts. I think they represent the hallucinations of the male protagonists as they become overpowered by the unyielding fumes. Anyway...
Day 2 - Old Spice
Put it on this morning and to be fair I'm smeeling mainly alright! I'd rank this one as a definite step up from Hai Karate, a much less musky, higher pitched floral aroma, which isn't so brutally overpowering.

Day 3 - Brut & Conclusion
Today I splashed on the old Brut as liberally as the late Henry Cooper recommended. Was that a mistake I hear you cry? Well, probably not, coming after Old Spice we have another "winner"! Although, to be fair, after the Hai Karate debacle anything would probably seem a winner 🤣
As to the smeel itself, Brut probably sits somewhere between the other two - it's got a light, zesty overtone but there in the background there is that slight muskyness the 70s man undoubtedly needed. It's like it's saying hey I'm here to party but if you need to have that serious chat in the kitchen, I'm here for you too.
In final conclusion, I'd rate them:-

I didn’t know they still made Brut and Hai Karate. I used to love those HK commercials, they were so funny!

I never used either of the products so I am only here to rate their commercials...#1 Hai Karate!, #2 Hai Karate!!, #3 Hai Karate!!! Hai Karate commercials win by a karate chop knockout!

I had each, back in the day - but now can no longer remember what either of them smelled like (though do recall that I very much disliked Hai Karate).
Yep: Definitely Hai Karate had the best t.v. commercials!
