Why isn't it respected on a "so bad, it's good" level?
Is it because they decided to make a social frenzy out of Myers, via webcams? Or is it because Busta Rhymes busted-up the whole movie? The world may never know.

Because H20 was the perfect coda to the series and Resurrection is not. In H20 Laurie got long-awaited revenge on Michael, and then in Resurrection it was essentially for nothing with her death in the first 10 minutes. And what did the movie give us in place of killing off a major character? A bunch of nobodies and Busta Rhymes.
Its possible if H20 never existed Resurrection might have done better.

I don't see how. Halloween 6 leaves Tommy leaving with Jamie's baby. Fans would complain that it didn't follow him.

Overall, it wasn't bad. I thought it was entertaining. It comes no where near as close to good to the original film, but many of the sequels don't. Just as a horror film I found it a fun watch.
