Old guy at the end

I've seen the movie several times, probably 5-10. I've always wondered though; does the old guy actually die at the end, or what?

I don't know for sure, but my opinion is that the old guy did not actually die at the end. Then again, I don't know why a pair of professional paramedics would play along with a hoax like that. Unless the casino stages these scenarios on purpose with the intent to reward certain patrons discretely.
