Si rifugia in una comunità di hackers ribelli. Quest'ultima parte è la più suggestiva di un film dove l'apparato figurativo schiaccia quello narrativo e l'azione violenta mortifica il disegno dei personaggi. L'occhio gode, l'intelligenza meno. Delusi i pochi fans di M. Gibson, ma un po' anche quelli, più numerosi, di K. Reeves.

Kenia. Justin Quayle, capo dell'Alto Commissariato Britannico e appassionato giardiniere nel tempo libero, apprende che la moglie Tessa, durante un viaggio di lavoro, è rimasta uccisa in mezzo al deserto, mentre il suo accompagnatore Arnold Bluhm, medico presso le popolazioni del luogo, sembra scomparso. Forse erano amanti, lui l'ha ammazzata ed è scappato.
