Dakkar, sa fille Sonia et son fiancé, l'ingénieur Nicolai Roget, ont dessiné un sous-marin que Roget pilote. Jusqu'au jour où l'île est envahie par le Baron Falon, gouverneur despotique d'Hetvia. Falon poursuit Roget dans un second sous-marin. Les deux équipages découvrent sous les fonds de l'océan un étrange pays peuplé de dragons, de calamars géants et d'une étrange race humanoïde encore inconnue.

After many harrowing moments for Crash, Diana, Prof. Norton and Billy, they barely get away with their lives when they escape a tower of Atlantis raised to the surface for the sole purpose of dominating or destroying the Earth (Which one depends on the compliance of the upper world dwellers.)

A remake of Frank Capra's Submarine (1928), Devil's Playground is a snappy Columbia "B plus" picture starring Richard Dix and Chester Morris. Submarine officers Dorgan (Dix) and Mason (Morris) battle on land for the affections of dance-hall girl Carmen (Dolores del Rio). She marries Dorgan but makes a play for Mason when her husband is on duty. The romantic rivalry is forgotten when Dorgan must rescue Mason and his crew from a sunken sub.
