Gleich nachdem Jake Blues aus dem Gefängnis entlassen wird, besuchen er und sein Bruder Elwood das Waisenhaus, in dem sie großgezogen wurden. Dort müssen sie erfahren, dass das Waisenhaus an das Kultusministerium verkauft werden soll. Es gibt nur eine Chance auf Rettung: Innerhalb von elf Tagen muss die Grundsteuer bezahlt werden. Die Brüder beschließen das Geld aufzutreiben, indem sie ihre alte Blues-Band wieder zusammenstellen und ein großes Konzert geben.
Nach 18 Jahren Gefängnis wird Elwood entlassen und erfährt, daß sein Bruder Jake inzwischen verstorben ist. Bei seiner in die Jahre gekommenen "Pinguintante" erfährt er, daß auch Curtis verstorben ist, jedoch einen unehelichen Sohn hatte. Der ist inzwischen Polizist, doch Elwood schafft es, ihm das Geld für ein neues Bluesmobil abzunehmen, allerdings illegal. Da er jedoch eines der Waisenkinder, den kleinen Buster, mitgenommen hat, als er nun die Band wieder zusammenbringen will, hat er wieder die Polizei an den Hacken. Und dabei bleibt es natürlich nicht auf dem Weg zu einem R&B-Wettbewerb quer durch die USA...

In Concert: A Benefit for the Crossroads Centre at Antigua is a live concert film featuring performances by the British rock musician Eric Clapton and invited friends, such as David Sanborn, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige and Bob Dylan.[citation needed] The DVD and VHS releases hit the market on 26 October 1999 under license of Warner Bros. Records. The concert tickets revenue was donated to the Crossroads Centre Foundation. It was the first Crossroads Guitar Festival, although titled differently at the time.[1] The release reached various national charts and sold more than 225,000 copies worldwide.
