There is something anime-related coming out for Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki but all I could find called it a "new anime project." Since no specifics (like a format) have been announced yet, I think it's better to leave the entry as "Ended" until there's more news about the new project.

There is no confirmation of Season 2 at the moment. Please remove season 2.

Season 2 has been removed. As there seems to have been some edit warring regarding the the status, it's now been locked to Ended. If the new project does end up being a multi-episode continuation of this anime (i.e. a sequel series), please submit a new report requesting the new project be added to the entry.

It is a sequel, the Japanese often change the names with each new season, Gintama had a dozen different names. They are always sequels and for some reason the guy above keeps on changing to ended when new series or OVAs have yet to air.

MAL only announces things when there has been an official announcement, they don't add to the database via rumours. Anything on there should be treated as fact.

I'm also following MyAnimeList, and it is showing Type: Unknown for the format of the sequel. https://myanimelist.net/anime/50803

The anime was announced as "新作アニメ制作決定!!" (New anime production decision!!) with no mention of the format. Sure, it could actually be a sequel but as it was announced as a new anime, it's better to wait until there's more information out.

The MAL page you originally linked to currently titles the new anime as "Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun (Shinsaku Anime)," with "Shinsaku Anime" meaning "new anime" or "new anime work." In addition, the original anime is currently listed as "Other" instead of "Prequel" in the Related Anime section.

Another anime database, AniDB, currently titles the new anime as "Jaku Chara Tomozaki-kun (Shin Anime)," with "Shin Anime" meaning "new anime." The new anime is also listed as "Other" on the relation graph.

So it clearly should not be marked as ended. Anything on there should be "continuing" where it be TV, OVA, ONA. I accept you can mark something with a movie to go as ended because they have their own entries.

It says "TV animation" on their twitter with the pinned tweet. https://twitter.com/tomozakikoshiki.

Edit, are you saying to add it as a new anime? Shin anime is just something added in before it airs, it is actually removed when the anime airs, same goes for shin anime. https://myanimelist.net/anime.php?cat=anime&q=Shinsaku%20Anime&type=0&score=0&status=0&p=0&r=0&sm=0&sd=0&sy=0&em=0&ed=0&ey=0&c%5B%5D=a&c%5B%5D=b&c%5B%5D=c&c%5B%5D=f

For example https://myanimelist.net/anime/53129/Seishun_Buta_Yarou_Shinsaku_Anime has a prequel listed. Shinsuke does not mean it is a separate anime.

If it's a sequel TV series, sure, but currently no one except the production company knows if it's a sequel or not.

If it's a new TV anime based on the same source material, it should be a new entry.

If it's a sequel OVA or ONA, it should be added to the specials season and I don't think the specials influence the status since, you know, they're specials.

If it's a new OVA or ONA based on the same source material, it should be a new entry with the Type set to Video and no networks.

It's always said "TVアニメ「弱キャラ友崎くん」" because that's the TV anime's account. They simply added the "@新作アニメ制作決定!!" part after the announcement but it could mean the new anime is also for TV.
