Wouldn't there be two original releases by that logic? Once the release of the movie. And once the release of a season with 4 new episodes.
Wouldn't it then be possible to enter both like IMDB did?
Ultimately, each of the 4 episodes contains additional information that would be important for the completeness of the movie database. E.g. titles, the descriptions of the individual episodes, running time, release date etc.

There are already many releases that treat it as 4 episodes. These can be viewed consistently in the future. The cinema release, on the other hand, was just a merging of these episodes and only aired for one or two weeks.
From a user's perspective and their ability to rate and receive information about the individual episodes, it would definitely make sense. The majority of users stream the series. Almost no one saw it in the cinema.

No. The original release is always the first one.
No. TMDB doesn't support alternate versions and consider them as duplicates.

As you can check for yourself using the two links, the 4 episodes were correctly entered as the 4th season on IMDB and the movie was created as a separate entry.

But the cinema version is not exactly the same as the TV version. So they are two separate original releases.
There are also a lot of entries on TMDB for movies that only consist of a few unchanged episodes of their related series, which are also listed. Here are some examples:
So if TMDB wants to follow its already established rules, the episodes must also be entered as a separate season despite the "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - The First Kiss That Never Ends" movie release. Especially because little things like the opening and ending were changed here.

This is the definition of alternate versions.
These "movies" are episodes compilation DVD (the episodes were available first), as per this rule:
This movie is a theatrical movie edited from TV episodes (the episodes were available first), as per this rule:
For the following ones, even if the movies were released first, the episodes didn't form a season by themselves, but are part of a much bigger season:
None of these cases are a theatrical movie splitted in a standalone series of episodes.
