Magnum seems to be lost between reality and fantasy, past and present, when he is convinced that he has seen an old friend, Mac, very much alive, walking the streets of Honolulu.

When Rick's boat returns from a cruise empty, Magnum, TC and Higgins go in search of Rick and his passengers who are presumed dead.

Magnum is elected Local P.I. of the Year, yet his award presentation as well as his investigation into a murder is hindered by the intervention of Luther Gillis and Tracy Spencer.
