Do you think the babysitter was just crazy, and there was no "Ralphie?" Or do you think there actually was some sort of malevolent, supernatural being?

I think the pilot was a Twilight Zone esque twist via misdirection. The babysitter was the psycho from the beginning, not the kid.

I believe they both were.
The way the dad was acting- just leaving the little boy in the bathroom and seemingly being in a hurry to leave without wanting the babysitter to meet/see his child before he just left them together. She even asked him something like, 'shouldn't I meet him first?'

Definitely could be either from what I can tell. However, I lean more toward the babysitter getting too freaked out and losing it.

Yeah, me too. And the way she smiled at the end... I guess the dad really should've checked her references!

I missed the smile. I'll need to re-watch. Easy enough; it was a good episode. A great start to the series!
