I like mermaid films and other cryptic creature stuff. So I had to give this a chance. Pretty good so far. I like how mermaids arent cute and innocent but are apex predators in this show. Everyone is doing a good job at acting especially the lead girl. The black girlfriend is a little rough, its like they didnt give her much to work with so far. Looking forward to seeing where they are going with it.

I would say for anyone who isnt into creature shows/films to skip it. Did you figure out who the black mermaid is? My wife and I did, least we think we did if they go the predictable route. :/

It's an interesting take on mermaids, which leads to interesting questions outside of the plot questions I have I wonder will be explored, like what is the legality of mermaid crimes against humans? Could a mermaid who committed theft, murder, or assault be arrested and tried in court? Would it be considered an animal by the legal system, or do they have the same rights as humans do? Come on arm chair lawyers, I need answers.
As far as plot questions, I'm still at this point wondering why the discovery of mermaids a military matter?

I like the show so far. The mermaid’s mannerisms are interesting and the multiple storylines that all tie together are appealing (the sheriff investigating the murder, the fishermen focused on finder their friend, the mermaid searching for her sister and the refuge center couple searching for both).

The mixed girl's mother? /On episode 2 This show is like pulling teeth. They keep saying how smart the mixed girl is, but her and her boyfriend keep doing the dumbest shiat.

Spoiler ahead for those of you not caught up. They're interested in the mermaids' regenerative capabilities. They mentioned the research results done on paralyzed mice, hence the subplot concerning the hero's mother.

I'm caught up. I don't really buy that as what they've been doing has been illegal and I'm not sure how they're getting away with it (kidnapping, covering up of numerous American deaths, and the go ahead for overfishing). If it ever gets out what they've done and covered up, there would be much hell to pay. Still, it's a TV series (so there are still plot points to deal with), so I'm waiting how this will play out (it can't end well for the Admiral that's for sure).

A pretty good surprise, while this might not be a perfect show, I was in dire need of watching something decent (hard nowadays) and this qualifies.
