Discuss Fargo

Just finished watching Season 1, loved every episode of it!

I was wondering what was the deal with the fox, rabbit cabbage riddle. The FBI agent twice gave the "turduckey" answer, so obviously the creators wanted to insinuate something. Only interpretation I could think of was that it was a metaphor of what happened among the 3 different "forces" at play: The police (i.e. the fox), those who stand up against bullies (Malvo and Lester, i.e. the rabbit), and the bullies (Lester's wife, Sam Hesse, the henchmen from Fargo, the Greek guy, etc. ie. the cabbage). So in the end, the entire story depicts this kind of food chain that the FBI agent depicted in his answer. The cabbages are taken down by the rabbits, then the fox ultimately eats the rabbits.

Any other interpretations?
