Discuss The Blacklist

When Liz was welcoming Tom back in the second episode of this season, she said something like, "I told you not to go off on that crazy mission." I thought that may have been a reference to Ryan Eggold leaving the show to take the lead on the spinoff that was doomed from the start. Does anyone think that was an inside joke?

Yes. But what's weird is no specifics of that "crazy mission" has been mentioned, and probably never will be. Namely Howard and Scottie.

You're right. I wanted to see how Howard moved forward, now that we know he's the evil one. I supposed they could bring it up in the future, but you're probably right and they'll burry it. I liked that show and I was disappointed it was cancelled. The one where they went to Russia to infiltrate the fake American town was creepy but entertaining.

I'm not sure Howard is the evil one. The lesser of two evils sure but not THE evil one.

1) Red warned Tom to leave his mother alone, to stay away. Red warned the audience (indirectly) by telling Scottie to her face how much he despises her. Conversely he spoke highly of Howard.

2) If that wasn't enough, funny how Scottie spent most of her appearances talking about how much she loved her son and how she refused to believe he was dead, how she would do anything to get him back...but when she got both her supposed greatest wish (son thought dead really alive) and Whitehall in her grasp, she had no problem getting Mr. Solomon to beat the crap out of Tom her own son for information about Whitehall. So this grieving mother traded a proper reunion for something that would net her $$$ and control. Howard at best (or I guess worse) used Tom as a de facto agent to get Whitehall but knowingly having her own son beaten tips the scales in Scottie's favor.

3) Unless I'm missing something Whitehall himself feared Scottie but wanted to work for Howard.

I wonder if the show continued if it would have lived up to its subtitle and have Scottie looking for Redemption. At first I thought the hook was she was a female Red but no, I can't even see Red having Liz beat up under any circumstance.
