Discuss The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour

In about November of 1968 Reader's Digest ( read by many millions each month by that time) ran an article called 'The blood-red hands of Ho Chi Minh'. It was an article devoted to the terrible subject of Minh mass-murdering landlords in the 1950s. A particular CBS executive probably walked into a CBS Offices with the Reader's Digest copy in hand and showed it to other execs. The exec probably said that millions and millions will read this article, watch the Smothers Brothers, see them pulling their inhuman get-out-of Vietnam-will-ya-America act, and the viewers will get red-hot angry at CBS for allowing these creepy guys to go on the air like this. Soon after this article came and outright informed millions of Americans the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour was thankfully axed!
