Serge Bramly (born 31 January 1949 in Tunis, Tunisia) is a French-language writer and essayist. He was born into a Jewish family in Tunis, Tunisia. When he was ten years old, his family emigrated to France. His sister is Sophie Bramly, the Paris-based photographer and filmmaker. He was married to photographer Bettina Rheims, with whom he has collaborated frequently, and had a son, Virgile. His novel La terreur dans le boudoir was adapted by Benoît Jacquot for the 2000 French film Sade. He is also noted for his books on Leonardo da Vinci and the Mona Lisa--Leonardo: Discovering the Life of Leonardo da Vinci, 1991 Leonardo: The Artist and the Man (1995), and Mona Lisa: The Enigma (2005). Serge Bramly, né le 31 janvier 1949 à Tunis (alors protectorat français), est un romancier, scénariste, critique d’art français, spécialiste de photographie. Après avoir quitté la Tunisie, en 1961, Serge Bramly poursuit sa scolarité au lycée Janson-de-Sailly puis étudie les lettres modernes à Nanterre, effectue un service militaire dans la Coopération en Afghanistan et devient professeur de français au Pakistan puis au Brésil. Il reçoit le prix Interallié 2008 pour son roman Le Premier Principe - Le Second Principe publié aux éditions Lattès. Fils de Jacqueline Raoul-Duval, née Khayat-Bonan, Serge Bramly a été le mari en premières noces de la photographe Bettina Rheims. Il est le père de Virgile Bramly et de la romancière Carmen Bramly.
