Discuss Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway

I see Norway bots are doing good job. Sure, it's typical cheap TV movie and sure the mother make a lot of unnecessary scenes, but it doesn't change the fact Norway is stealing children and you are not safe staying in this country with children. They stole and split kids of Czech mother who won't see them until they are adult. They stole kids from Polish parents who had to hire detective to kidnap them back to Poland. These are just two famous cases coming to my mind immediately plus I remember stealing child even from Norwegian mother. You won't find such horror stories from any other European country.

I rated it it 70% because of the story, though more fair rating would be 60% considering production values and acting, but rating it below 5/10 is clearly brigading.

It's crept up a bit since you posted, but I suspect it's more angry Norwegians or people who reflexively vote down anything starring non-whites rather than bots as there have only been 51 ratings cast. Glad I watched this after some of the lighter Norwegian shows I've recently enjoyed as I don't think I'd have enjoyed them as much after seeing this film.

I don't know who is giving the low ratings, but the results on other sites are interesting.

Rotten Tomatoes has a 19% critics score, while the audience score is 93%. On IMDb the users score is 7.3, and 88.8% has given the movie a score 0f 6 out of 10 stars or higher (27.5%: 10 stars; 13.3%: 9 stars; 20.1%: 8 stars; 19.1%: 7 stars; 8.8%: 6 stars).

It is also worth mentioning that the majority of the critics on Rotten Tomatoes who gave the movie such a low rating are females of Indian descent. thinking

That is odd. You would have thought that they'd be more likely to praise the film - though "Mrs. Chatterjee"does break various "Indian housewife" rules. I wondered if Rani Mukerji had upset Indian audiences (I've occasionally seen lots of Indian commentators turn on an actor for some "offence" they have committed) but they mainly seemed to like her.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty good film. Not exactly groundbreaking but if the trailer piques your interest, worth a look. Though unless you're a big fan of Indian musical interludes I'd suggest fast-forwarding through the musical montages.
