Discuss Duel

Don't know how I ended up with garbage like this on my watchlist! It certainly gets the OMG ANXIETYYYY mood right, but why anyone would actually want 2 hours of that is beyond me... But the film itself is just so ridiculous and bad. For a start, it was so unrealistic and ludicrous! Just a few points that come to mind: 1) If he was that worried, he could just go back the opposite direction (ie, head back for home). 2) He is in hick central and nobody has a gun? That lady with all the snakes and stuff, there is no way in hell she didn't have a shotgun or something in her shack. I would have just got that and happily blown the guys head off. If that is too much for some people, then he could have at least shot out the guys tires. 3) When he was in the diner, he could have slashed the guys tires and that would be the end of that. 4) He could have smashed his own windows and left glass all over the road behind him. 5) He could have just stayed in the diner. 6) etc.. etc..

But besides all the unrealistic things, it just wasn't a very fun, interesting, or exciting movie. It was just a loon in a truck chasing someone for an entire movie, there were no other angles. And big finale was a let down too. Did the guy not see him jumping out of his car? He was hanging out the door... It was also barely walking speed when he jumped out yet they tried to make it a big dramatic smash. It made no sense how he pushed the car and drove himself off the cliff. And why no explosion? At least it would have added some sort of 'release' to the end of the film, they do it in a million other crappy films and in this one it would actually make sense seeing as it is supposed to be full of flammable liquid.

p.s. What was the point of the phone call to the wife? Don't answer, I don't want to know. Bad film. I watched another really terrible "bad guy on the road" movie last week with Kurt Russell that I thought couldn't get any worse, but even that was probably better than this one. I wish I could find more reliable reviews.

No way. Classic Spielberg movie.

It's unrealistic to you because it's a film. They are actors it's not real life. Maybe you have an issue within yourself that you can not separate fiction from fact. What's real and what is not. It's a great film and it is a classic
