Don't get me wrong here, the whole movie was bad, but for what it was, I was willing to give it a 5/10. Have we seen it before? Of course. Were all the chase and fight scenes terrible? Yep. But honestly, what could you expect from a popcorn action flick, so yeah, I was thinking 5 out of charity. But then...the ending. What the heck happened? He has a big ole "boss level" fight in the mansion, picks up his unsuspecting boss from the capitol, chokes him for 30 seconds, exchanges gunfire, bounces him off the car three times and says, "You will tell the world about Operation Unity today!! Now, where's my family?!?!!" And the "bad guy" is like, "No way! But I will wipe your record clean, but if you breathe even a word of this I'll have you brought up on charges before sundown!" Cut scene to a newspaper article, good guy finds his family in Witness Protection. I mean, WHAT THE HECK?!?!
And for anyone who hasn't seen it and doesn't know what I'm talking about, I'm not leaving things out, they literally just splice together an ending. I know this movie was never going to be anything great, but just make it good enough. The ending brought it to a 3/10 for me...and honestly it's more like a 2! Did I miss anything? I swear I felt like I accidentally skipped around. I am dumbfounded.

I missed that this was made by "Sky Cinema". I discovered this by rewatching the trailer after reading your post. I had to rewatch as I had completely forgotten this film. Anyway, I am unfamiliar with Sky Cinema, but it reminded me of Sky Australia and it looks like it's a big TV conglomerate owned by ComCast. So basically this was a made-for-TV movie? It was truly terrible.

I'm not sure where you are getting the 'Sky Cinema' connection? There is nothing on the Blacklight Wiki page about SC. Maybe you read somewhere that it was available to watch on that channel (UK's version of HBO, etc.).

There are two trailers posted here on TMDB. I got that idea from the UK trailer (which was the one I watched before posting). It says "A Sky Original" with the tag "Sky Cinema" in the first frame. Here's the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_N9pU4FMOs

I found this line on Sky's own review of this movie: "Blacklight is available from 25th March 2022 as a Sky original, on Sky and NowTV", so may it's just language they use when they have something available? I don't know. Normally "a Netflix/Amazon Original" means they made that crap. :)

Horrible and superficial ending, even more so than a plot lacking in ideas. Neeson is now showing the signs of age and the action sequences are no longer credible. But... it's true... the ending with the absurd dialogue with the boss makes everything even more ridiculous. Bruce Willis was missing to compete in the omelette.
