I don't know, it's definitely a heap of dung and probably one of the worst but the Day of the Dead remake might take the cake. That was insulting on levels where I didn't know there were levels.
What's as upsetting is how Carpenter seems perfectly content to plink on his synth and cash the checks from the hacks that keep remaking his films. He's essentially turned into a sellout like Orson Welles hocking Paul Masson wines without the giant stomach and perpetual stupor.
To be fair, even shortly after his own death Welles didn't look as cadaverous as Carpenter does now. Neither Carpenter nor Nick Nolte can walk into a funeral home without one of the employees trying to topple them into an open coffin.

John Carpenter has no control over his films getting remade but I have no problem with him getting paid for studio laziness.

The original is a classic - why do they waste their time, and ours, bothering with these lame re-makes.

'Prom Night' was pretty rough, too.

Point break! Hands down. There is no greater travesty. What a horrible movie

Still haven't seen that one. But when I saw it was being remade, I really had to scratch my head -- why even bother?

P. S i am not a fan of the original and always thought it was over hyped. I found it very ordinary but watchable.
But the remake........ I can't find the words

I never did see the Fog remake. Is it worse than the Wicker Man?
