I rarely say "This movie needs a sequel," but whenever I read about people acting stupid in the news, I think a sequel to Idiocracy should be in the works. Mike Judge would have so much new material to work with!

Haha. I actually think it's resurging now as a "cult" film given our modern context...hey, The Simpsons and Idiocracy got it right! #prophetsinhollywood
I only recently watched Idiocracy, and found it quite enjoyable...of course that means I skipped it when it was released, as it is definitely not something that would instantly appeal to me. ;)

I just think the movie is perfect as it is and needs no sequel, especially with all the pandering happening right now.

I gotta agree here. This movie came out at just the right time before the PC brigade took over, and some of the hilarious content that made it work wouldn't be allowed today. As much as I'd like to see a sequel, I just doubt it could be any good. Plus they'd likely make it all about this horrendous era of social media addiction, and while relevancy would certainly make itself known, I just hate seeing that crap in movies as it is.

I heard that Terry Crew would be interested in making a movie about the life story of President Camacho.
