Decent, but flawed

I think prosletysing of any kind by an institution is generally a dubious pursuit, but could still appreciate what this film set out to achieve. At heart, it is a simple moral quandary. How extreme does a situation have to become before you would renounce a core belief or value?
If you can overlook some dubious accents and acting, a slightly one dimensional portrayal of the Japanese and seemingly immaculate hygiene options available to 'glamping' Jesuits, then this can be enjoyed.

EDIT: Toward the start of the film, some men swim from one place to another. In the very next scene, we see them in dry clothes even though not much time is supposed to have passed. Perhaps no one wants to correct an "old master" like Scorsese when he commits a pretty blatant continuity error, which are nothing new for him. I hate "yes" men.
