Discuss A Little Help

I first saw "A Little Help" back around 2014, after spotting it in my local video store. I had just recently become familiar with some of Jenna Fischer's work after a marathon watch of the entire "The Office" (U.S. version) television series in 2013, shortly after it ended.

This film, at the time, was definitely a different turn for her.

Though billed as a comedy, this is much more a drama, after Jenna Fischer's character Laura struggles to raise her tween son following a family tragedy; the support-- or should I say lack of it --from the rest of her family is painful to watch.

I remember back on the old IMDB boards someone commented that this film could be considered the aftermath of Pam Beesly's life had she and Jim ever gotten divorced; I think one could definitely watch it from that perspective, and it would still work.

Jenna Fischer did a good job in this film, and fans of hers might want to check it out-- as well as those who might want to watch a film about single-parenthood that isn't sugar-coated.
