Discuss This Means War

I have huge respect for Tom Hardy and like everything he's in EXEPT this one. Picture him in Bronson, The Revenant, Taboo, Peaky Blinders, even Mad Max: Fury Road, and then there's this chesee ball movie. He MUST have done it for the paycheck because he's a serious actor that has the 'crazy eye' look down pat. What the hell Tom Hardy? Don't ever do this again mate...hmmmmm?

Surely, It was a movie he made for money as the big incentive.

He's a solid character actor... I think this was an attempt to get him into more mainstream roles... I'd like to see him play something other than a brute for once...

No, a smile doesn't suit him unless it's diabolical. IMO he's a good bad guy or crazy guy. Should NEVER do good guy roles. And answering questions with a grunt or asking questions with the British "yes?" Or "hmmm?" He's also good at acting without too much dialogue.

He was good in Locke where he played an engineer sorting out his issues while driving across the city...

The Welsh accent was a bit heavy though.

Yes! What made him so good in that was something alot of actors couldn't pull off. The WHOLE movie was just him with a camera in his face and he had to be subtle and real through the WHOLE movie and be careful not to over act. I think alot of actors would read THAT script and say 'too hard, too intense'. He's my favorite actor, and you may be thinking 'oh she's female, she probably just has a crush on him', but NO! Even though he is good looking in real life, he most usually makes himself look crazy and terrible for movies bc he always plays the bad guy. I just like the movie choices he makes...they're my type of movies, and I love watching him be a scary brute. Like in The Revenant, he definately wasn't a heart throb but that's why I like him, he was perfect in that role and even his accent was convincing. He's a great actor. My female comparison for him would be Charlize Theron. She's beautiful but unlike Angelina Jolie, she is not shy to look ugly for a movie. I like REAL actors like that.....gritty. One of my favourite Tom Hardy film is Bronson. He was SO ENTERTAINING!

He does alright. But I always see him as someone who plays themselves

I don't particularly worship him as an actor anyway like most of this planet does I find him astronomically overrated.

I disagree. He's a hot commodity right now because he is an awesome character actor. But to each his own.....maybe you find Mark Wahlberg entertaining because he just plays himself in EVERY MOVIE. Lazy. BTW, I'm just teasing you, I'm not trolling you. I don't want this to turn into IMDb LOL! We can agree to disagree.
