Yeah, they already did pretty much the same movie in 2010 and called it 'The losers' and it wasn't exactly a great movie even back then. Now imagine the same movie with an inferior cast and some 'subtle' wokeness added in for good measure and you get this boring mess. They try so hard to give some background info on these 'misfits', but good grief the background info somehow makes them seem even more boring and uninteresting. I mean who cares the one guy likes The Beatles etc. Heck, I actually thought it was Anthony B. Jordan and kept wondering why does his acting suck even more than usual and then I came here to see the cast list and it's actually Nick Cannon. If you want to see Nick Cannon being unfunny for about 90 minutes you are in for a treat. Not sure what the point of using a made up arabic country of 'Jazeristan' and still using a real extremist group like The muslim brotherhood in the plot is. It's not like they have a shortage of real arab countries to pick from.
The plot is just absurdly bad and idiotic. Just to mention a few high....I mean lowlights: They rob what looks like about a ton of gold and somehow they have the time to melt it down in a microwave (of all places) while the warden is searching for them. How do they get into the gold vault? They drill a smaöö hole above the vault and pump what I assume is hydrogen into the room and then light it up. This magic hydrogen causes a magical explosion that not only does not damage the gold nor the interior of the vault and only manages to open up the colossal vault door guarding the gold (off camera of course) Nick Cannon dresses up as some ministry of health employee and just marches into the secret prison where the gold is held. Inside he tells the prison officer that they need new refrigerators. Fast forward about twenty minutes and now Nick Cannon shows up at the prison again this time dressed up in the traditional bedouin garment this time representing the office of poisonous gases. Now he looks exactly the same except he is wearing a fake beard and moustache and the clothes change. Now the head officer obviously can not see through such a genius disguise despite the fact he just met the guy and he seemed to be the only black person in the whole country. Obviously them being in a (made up) arabic country and both of them being arabic they still talk english to each other while Cannon pronounces some english words in a 'funny' arabic manner.

They can never pass up a chance to trot out the diversity hires these days or exploit preexisting source material.

For a moment there, I thought you were writing about the John Huston film starring Gable and Marilyn Monroe....

They stole the title. They can't even come up with original titles these days.

This film is neither intended to be the next Citizen Kane, nor is it trying to break any new ground. It is not even a movie that takes itself seriously. It is a mindless heist romp intended for nothing but having some fun. In that light, It is a "suspend your disbelief" and ride along kind of movie, and it did a great job of delivering on that ride. I really liked it. Yes, it was full of clichés and an unbelievable plot. As usual, Renny Harland kept things moving at the right pace. I would not pay to see it at the theater, and I certainly will not be buying a copy, but we are gushing with good movies that I can say the same thing about. Think The Expendables, only with better actors and a different genre. For a fun movie that can be forgotten as soon as the credit start rolling, it is worth a view.
