Movie was very engrossing. All thanks to Tobey Maguire for delivering such a believable performance.

Making superhero films is tricky in the sense that you have to have that balance of fight scenes to make it enjoyable and enough character back story to really give that character some depth.

It may not have the best CGI effects, but for sure everything else - the plot, the script, and the acting - is on the same level as other great superhero films like Batman and Superman.

Tobey Maguire was always going to have a tough task revitalising this franchise - but I think he has done a decent job here. The geeky, shy, young "Peter Parker" bitten by a genetically-modified spider that endows him with superhuman powers, decides to use his newly-found prowess for good.
