Extra Details: It appears the first theatrical release in Spain is forcing the year to display as 2020 instead of the earliest digital release of 2019. I couldn't find any information if that is supposed to be this way or just an unintended consequence.

It's supposed to be that way. A theatrical or limited theatrical release will always be the primary release date. You can check out the primary release date order here.
But I think the Spain date might be wrong. The Disney España trailer gives a November 27, 2020 release date for Disney+. I changed it since I can't find it ever receiving a theatrical release in Spain.
