Discuss Footsteps in the Fog

I didn't know until after the film ended that the two leads were married. It just added to the enjoyment to know that they must have been having a riot playing their somewhat adversarial roles (that were never hammed up or played with a knowing wink). Infact, Granger was worryingly convincing in having more chemistry with another actress.

A very distinctive movie that drops you right into the meat of the film. I can't think of anything I've see that is quite like it. Maybe Misery?

I know film history is littered with good films where the leads fall for each other off camera, but are there other good ones where an actual married couple play it straight and pull off a success?

Here is some info about her involvement with Granger & their fight with Howard Hughes. I'm sure there is probably a more in-depth story but this sums it up.

I really dug Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) for that exact reason. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie playing 2 spies who hate & try to kill each other. It nailed the fun vibe you're talking about.

Thanks, I love the tale about Mitchum smacking Hughes, although I suspect it is only a story.
