Hinges completely on Jessica Chastain's performance (which thankfully is pretty great all around) but Idris Elba in his supporting role cannot be understated. The two of them quickfire dialogue in true Sorkin fashion, and while Molly's Game will probably not top anybody's lists for 2017, I do think most people will at the very least gain something from the movie, be it insight or enjoyment. Hopefully? Both.

Based on the intriguing true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic athlete turned underground poker organizer. The story in and of itself is fascinating, but it’s accentuated even further with Chastain’s incredible portrayal, the fantastic fast pace of the story, and Sorkin’s clever script. Jessica Chastain is really quite good in this biopic of Molly Bloom, a would-be American skier who ended up running some seriously lucrative poker games in the USA. An injury curtails her Olympic aspirations so she heads to Los Angeles and is soon helping "Dean" (Jeremy Strong) run his successful, if somewhat low-brow, poker games.
